Hi, I’m Ayesha

I’m Ayesha Rahman, the home cook behind Curry House Recipes. I grew up around South Asian food, where curries, rice dishes, fresh breads and big family meals were part of everyday life. Some of my earliest food memories are of watching dishes slowly simmer on the hob while the kitchen filled with the smell of toasted spices.

Over the years, I started cooking more of those dishes myself, learning family favourites, experimenting with different techniques and becoming increasingly interested in how curry changes from one country and region to another.

Welcome to Curry House Recipes

I created Curry House Recipes as a place to share the dishes I love cooking at home, along with recipes inspired by curry traditions from around the world.

You’ll find plenty of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan recipes, alongside Thai, Malaysian, British curry house favourites and other dishes influenced by the many different ways curry is cooked and enjoyed.

The aim is simple: recipes that taste good, make sense to follow and can realistically be cooked in a home kitchen.

What You’ll Find Here

There’s a strong focus on curries, but the site goes beyond the main dish. You’ll also find biryani and rice recipes, dhal and lentil dishes, naan and other breads, chutneys, sides and accompaniments that help turn a curry into a complete meal.

I enjoy both traditional recipes and familiar curry house favourites, so you’ll see everything from chicken karahi and lamb rogan josh to butter chicken, tikka masala, Thai green curry and Malaysian-style curries.

Why Curry?

What I love about curry is how broad the word really is. A Pakistani karahi is completely different from a Thai green curry, and both are different again from a British curry house madras.

That variety is what makes this kind of cooking so interesting. Curry House Recipes is my way of exploring those differences while bringing together recipes that are comforting, flavourful and worth cooking again.
